An important note about our response to COVID-19.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic has resulted in unprecedented challenges for all of us, especially those who are at highest risk: older adults and those with underlying conditions. At Spirit Homecare, we take these challenges very seriously, which is why we strictly adhere to the CDC’s guidelines for risk mitigation and in-home care protocol.

Because of the safety measures we have in place, we are confident that the care we provide actually presents a lower risk to our clients than care provided in settings outside the home, where our clients are more likely to be exposed. We are taking (and will continue to take) every possible precaution to protect our clients and their families from exposure to COVID-19. Among the measures we are taking:

  • Each Spirit caregiver must pass a daily screening before being cleared for client visits.
  • If a Spirit caregiver has knowingly come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, we require a 10-day quarantine as well as a COVID-19 test before the caregiver can be cleared for client visits.
  • Each Spirit caregiver is required to wear protective masks and gloves while visiting or interacting with clients, as appropriate.
  • Each Spirit caregiver is asked to minimize personal contact with clients and to maintain an appropriate social distance during visits, as appropriate.
  • We routinely update our team of caregivers on the CDC’s guidelines and risk mitigation protocol.
